THE TEN PRODUCE LIZZO & SZA NEW SUMMER ANTHEM
Summer is officially in full swing, and that means vacations, bar-b-ques, beaches, and women throwin’ it byke at the function. Knowing this, and capitalizing off of all the recent publicity, Lizzo drops a surprise mixtape entitled “My Face Hurts From Smiling.” It did’’t exactly come out of nowhere though, as she teased a new single featuring R&B superstar SZA and her in a studio, winding rump a mystery new record that had fans begging for more in the comments.
Enter today, where the project drops and sure enough the #1 song on it is “IRL” produced by our own Don Kevo from The TEN Music Group. It’s the 2nd official collaboration between the superstar duo and early reactions are calling it the next single as streams and views pour in on the record on every platform.
The beat is a trendy, fit for Tik-tok, hard-hitting (Don Kevo’s signature) twist on Jersey club music. It’s sure to get everyone wiggling hips and stiffly moving their arms in no time on a video near you. But countering the upbeat unbridled confidence oozing from Lizzo in the first verse, SZA comes in with a lovely-toned melodic singing voice talking just as heavy. She keeps a lot of space and stays in the perfect pocket with that high pitch of hers. It’s an unexpected 1-2 punch that works well on the track, divided up by the legendary sample “Just shake that asssssssssssssss b***h and let me see what you got!” from Splack Pack.
